On 8 April our current Scholars and some of our Boston based Kennedy alumni were welcomed to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate for a private tour and networking reception. They were joined by our MIT and Harvard-appointed Trustees, Professor Gareth H. McKinley and Professor Rana Mitter.
Guests visited the Institute’s full-scale replica of the United States Senate Chamber (the only replica of the Senate in the world) and their faithful reproduction of Senator Ted Kennedy’s Washington, D.C. Senate office. One of the longest-serving senators in U.S. history, Kennedy spent almost 47 years as the Senator from Massachusetts and the décor and objects in his office reflected the values, people, and ideas he held most dear.
“Senator Ted Kennedy often called the Kennedy Scholarship the most ambitious of all the memorials to his brother. That is one reason it remains such a deep honor to continue to engage with the scholars here at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute.” Adam Hinds, CEO of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute
“We are hugely grateful to the team at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for so generously hosting this event and providing members of the Kennedy community with a wonderful opportunity to explore the Institute and catch up with fellow scholars and alumni.” Tim Farrow-House, Director of the Kennedy Memorial Trust
