Kennedy Memorial Trust Summer Reception

Guests attending the summer reception in

On 25 June we held our annual Summer Reception at Lincoln’s Inn.   Alumni, guests and friends gathered to meet and congratulate our newest Kennedy Scholars before their departure to the US and to celebrate Sir Mark Walport’s decade of service to the Trust, first as a Trustee and then as Chair. Following his recent appointment, we also introduced our next Chair, Sir Richard Moore, Sir Richard Moore, who will join the Kennedy Memorial Trust in October.

We once again have a very strong group of new scholars, with many exciting ambitions for their time in the US and beyond.  Five of the new cohort joined us at the event and greatly enjoyed meeting with some of the Kennedy Scholar community.

On the evening, we had one of our 2024-25 Scholars as our speaker – Dr Hugh Pearson, who has just completed his Masters in Public Health.  His speech explored what he has taken from his time at Harvard personally and professionally, but also the broader value of international students, scholarships and exchange of ideas.

It was a wonderful evening in which we reflected on both the impact of the scholarship and the incredible achievements of our community.
