Judith Aldersey-Williams, 1985

I am enormously proud both of winning the Scholarship and of having attended Harvard.

I am a lawyer specializing in energy law. I live in rural Scotland and work part-time for CMS Cameron McKenna, an international law firm, in their Aberdeen office.

After getting my law degree from Clare College, Cambridge, I did an LLM at Harvard Law School. I am enormously proud both of winning the Scholarship (seeing my name in the directory alongside so many illustrious individuals still gives me a buzz) and of having attended Harvard.

HLS gave me a whole series of new perspectives on law - it became not just a question of statutes and cases but of politics, economics and philosophy. It also introduced me to people who remain friends almost thirty (how did that happen?) years later.

Without a doubt the Kennedy Scholarship helped me broaden my academic horizons.
