Suman Basu, 2003

Without a doubt the Kennedy Scholarship helped me broaden my academic horizons.

I was awarded a Kennedy Scholarship for the academic year 2003-2004, during which year I embarked upon the PhD programme in the Department of Economics at MIT. Previously I had completed a BA Honours in Economics at Trinity College, Cambridge University.

I currently work as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund.

Without a doubt the Kennedy Scholarship helped me broaden my academic horizons, with my studies in the US complementing my earlier progress in the UK. The Kennedy network was a source of comfort abroad, and also provided a sense of perspective when reflecting upon the nuances of life on the other side of 'the pond'.
